Dog Care: Tips for Traveling with your Dog

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , at 6:47 pm by Supplement Review Online

Summer is the time when most of us take a vacation with the family.  This means either taking and caring for our dog on the road or leaving fido at home to be cared for by others.  Of course, if your dog is ill you are probably going to want to leave him/her at home not to ruin your vacation.

If you do decide to bring your dog along on the trip you are going to have make sure that you have the essentials for dog travel.  You will need to bring the dog food, toys, treats, bed, bowls, and plenty of cold water.  If you are planning on staying in a hotel you will want to make sure that the place you are staying is a dog friendly hotel.  You can check out the site petswelcome.com to check out dog friendly hotels.

You will also need to prepare your dog for travel.  This can be accomplished by going to the vet and making sure that your dog is healthy and is up to date on all vaccinations.

If you have decided at this point that dog travel is not right for your best friend, and the decision is to leave your dog at home, the best option would probably be to have a relative or good friend look after your K-9 companion.  Of course, if this is not an option, then you could always hire a professional sitter or have your dog put up in a boarding kennel.

New Puppy Crying at Night? Use a Ticking Clock

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , at 11:57 pm by Supplement Review Online

When getting a new puppy, the easiest thing to do to make your new puppy feel at home is to put a ticking clock beside it in it’s bed.  You might think this is an absurd thing to say but I guarantee that it will help the puppy sleep easier during the first few nights in its new home.

When the puppy was with it’s mother, it cuddled close to her and had the comfort of her rythmic heartbeat to provide comfort to it.  The clock is an easy means to simulate the natural heart beat of the mother. This will sooth your puppy and ease the puppies crying during the night.  I have done this with all my puppies that I have had over my life and I swear that it makes caring for the newborn puppy that much easier.
